Your personal assistant in Paris,
for clients from the United Kingdom.

Book & Smile is the personal assistant British clients rely on in Paris: one trusted, bilingual person who handles the post-Brexit 90/180 count and long-stay visas, French banking when UK accounts no longer serve an EU address, driving-licence exchange, CPAM and the carte Vitale, British-curriculum and bilingual schooling, English-speaking doctors, and the weekend apartment kept ready between Eurostars. Open every day, 8:00 to 20:00 Paris time — and 24/7 for members. You ask. We handle it.

London is 1 hour behind Paris and 2h15 away by Eurostar. Paris keeps its own hours, its own language and its own paperwork — and none of it waits for you to arrive.

From the United Kingdom, every French file — the visa appointment, the bank, the doctor, the school, the préfecture — takes a phone call in French during Paris hours, then a follow-up, then another. The distance turns simple tasks into weeks.

What if one trusted person in Paris carried the whole file for you, in your language, on your schedule?

What we handle for British clients

  • Before you land — long-stay visa appointments when a stay exceeds 90 days, the 90/180 count kept for frequent visitors, documents prepared
  • French administration — préfecture and ANEF, OFII validation, CPAM and carte Vitale, impôts — filed, followed up, closed
  • Banking — the right appointment and complete documentation for a French account, when UK banking no longer serves an EU address
  • Health — English-speaking GPs, specialists and hospitals booked; GHIC use explained; medical stays organised end to end
  • Family — British-curriculum, bilingual and French schooling files, activities, household staff and suppliers
  • Everyday Paris — tables, drivers, sourcing, gifts, Eurostar arrivals met; the weekend from London handled before you leave St Pancras

Paris for British clients after Brexit

The practical change for British clients is simple to state and tedious to live: a UK passport now counts against the 90-days-in-180 Schengen allowance, and any stay in France beyond it requires a long-stay visa obtained before departure, validated online after arrival. For frequent visitors we keep the count; for residents we run the visa, OFII and préfecture calendar so that nothing lapses.

Other files follow. Some UK banks have closed or restricted accounts for customers resident in the EU, which makes a French account a priority rather than a convenience. UK driving licences can be exchanged under the UK–France agreement, with paperwork that rewards preparation. Healthcare runs through CPAM and the carte Vitale once resident; the UK GHIC covers necessary care on visits. None of this is difficult. All of it takes a phone call in French at Paris hours.

One hour and a Eurostar away

London is one hour behind Paris and two and a quarter hours by train, which is why so many British clients treat Paris as a second city rather than a destination: a weekend apartment, a season for the children, a quarterly board visit, a Fashion Week. We keep the file open between visits — suppliers paid, the apartment aired, the first dinner booked — and meet arrivals at Gare du Nord when it helps.

Schools, doctors and the English-speaking Paris

Paris has British-curriculum and international schools, bilingual sections in French schools, English-speaking GPs and specialists, and a deep expatriate community — but each has its own calendar, waiting list and dossier. We prepare the files, attend the meetings with you if useful and handle the French side of every conversation.

FAQ

Do you work with clients based in the United Kingdom before they arrive in Paris?

Yes. Most British clients brief us from the United Kingdom, by WhatsApp or call, weeks before arriving. Visa appointments, documents, banking and the arrival itinerary are prepared so that Paris is operational on day one.

What languages do you work in?

We work in English and French. France is handled in French; you are updated in writing in the language you choose.

What are your hours, given the time difference?

London is 1 hour behind Paris and 2h15 away by Eurostar. We are open every day, 8:00 to 20:00 Paris time, for new requests — and 24/7 for members, so an urgent matter is never left to the next morning.

How does the engagement work, and is it discreet?

One-off assistance for a single file, or a monthly membership (Essential, Executive, Private Office) for ongoing support. Terms are agreed in a private consultation. NDA on request; one dedicated point of contact.

Can you keep track of our Schengen 90/180 days?

Yes. For frequent visitors we maintain the count and flag in advance when a long-stay visa becomes necessary.

Do you help exchange a UK driving licence?

We prepare and file the exchange under the UK–France arrangement and follow it up until the French licence is issued.

Consider it handled.
